We are a fully vegan takeaway restaurant. Order online from The fussy Vegan for pickup or delivery. We make delicious vegan food accessible to everyone in a format that is easy and non pretentious. We love to create plant based alternatives of our favourite comfort foods. Our aim is to support smaller local suppliers of ethically produced plant based ingredients as far as possible. TFV is dedicated to speaking up about what it means to be vegan for the animals and creating awareness around reducing the use of animal products.
We have 3 locations in Johannesburg (Greenside, Blairgowrie and Fourways). We have been voted best vegan restaurant in Joburg for 2021 and 2022. It is an honour to serve our community with the quality of vegan meals they have come to love. Some of our most popular meals include the Tofu Facon Sub, Seitan Strib BGR, Breakfast Burrito, Tofu Buddha Bowl, Loaded Macs and our Texan Chimichanga. We also offer some gluten free burger and bowls options.
Looking around us lately we feel so proud that veganism has reached the heights that it has in South Africa. From fast food chains to grocery stores and more vegan meals in mainstream restaurants using local ingredients, veganism is becoming more and more accessible in our sunny country.
We are so proud to be part of the story of veganism in this beautiful, diverse country.

For more info on being vegan in South Africa visit the ProVeg SA website. Also check out some of our favourite vegan instagrammers like @CapeTownVegan, @AcidentallyVegan_SA and @VeganRecipeIdeas. They highlight their favourite vegan spots, products and recipes which are a great help to new vegans. Youtube is a great resource for getting started with some fantastic vegan recipes that you can make at home. Plant based cooking may seem intimidating at first but it is really quite simple. A vegan diet is also nutritionally sufficient if you make sure to include a good balance of raw fruit and veg, nuts, seeds, legumes and grains in your diet.
Some of our favourite alternatives like OKJA oat milk and Herbi-Vohr Seitan make it easy to start using sustainable plant based options.
